INTRODUCTORY/ FUNDAMENTAL

4-8-year-olds

WHAT WE DO IN THIS CLASS:

The training session is broken down into a short:

  • 10 minute warm-up, 10 minutes of technique introduction,
  • 10 minutes of skill development, 10-15 minutes of a team game, and then
  • 10-20 minutes of free play and fun activities that are directed by the coach and whatever the players would like to do with themselves or each other.

DEVELOPMENTAL

9-10-year-olds

WHAT WE DO IN THIS CLASS:

Session lengths for this age top out at 65 minutes.

What’s accomplished in the sessions themselves is not too different from the under-8 age group.

Their warm-up  last about 10 minutes followed by

  • 20 minutes of technique and skill development.
  • Team games and free play round out the remaining practice time.

GOLDEN YEARS OF LEARNING

11-12-year-olds

WHAT WE DO IN THIS CLASS:

At this age, athletes begin to realize the necessity of practice and will understand that to be successful against their opponent’s work will need to be put in on days where there are no games.

  • Warm-ups for 10 minutes, followed by a
  • Longer period (half-hour) of technique and skill development.
  • The remaining time is spent in team games or set plays.

LEARNING TO COMPETE

13-14-year-olds

WHAT WE DO IN THIS CLASS:

Have a similar session breakdown as the total time spent in practice is not less than 90 minutes and sometimes have 2-hour practice for this set group. Players will likely want to practice to get better although practices should be kept interesting and move along quickly.

LEARNING TO WIN

15 and up

WHAT WE DO IN THIS CLASS:
